KATHMANDU : Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ek Nath Dhakal urged youths to be public minded and service oriented to become the agent of change. Minister Dhakal was speaking at the Youth Speak Forum at Hotel Shangrila in the capital today organized by AIESEC. “The root cause of problem is individualism and our collective efforts should root it out” Minister Dhakal said. Minister Dhakal concerned about the erosion of moral and spiritual values among the youth generation and proposed to adopt a culture of service to promote peaceful society. “We must reverse the trend of declining ethical values “said the Minister. He asked participants to put family interest above personal and national interest above family. Minister Dhakal has said that Prime Minister KP Oli led government is friendly to youths and social change. “Let us build our society where young people have public mindedness and service is a primary culture of that society” said the Minister. Other speakers include country director of ADB Kenichi Yokoyama, UNDP program officer Martina Voss and Chairman of King’s College Dr. Som Pudasaini. Forum was chaired by Sudarshan Kunwar, president of AIESEC Nepal. There are over 150 young leaders from various colleges participating the forum.
