The winners this year are: 1. Baburam Bishwokarma in Education 2. Laxman Adhakari in Health 3. Pramila Manandhar in Environment 4. Nirmala Sharma in Women & Community Development, and 5. Pradeep Chapagain in Youth & Economic Development.
Rotary in Nepal has initiated “Rotary Journo Award” from 3 year to be given to media people working in the field of: 1. Literacy, 2. Health, 3. Environment, 4. Women & Community Development, and 5. New Generation & Economic Development. The award carries a token cash prize of Nrs. 25,000 along with the Award Citation.
Rotary Nepal has partnered with Federation of Nepali Journalist (FNJ), Education Journalists’ Group (EJG), Health Journalists Association-Nepal (HEJAN), Nepal Forum for Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ), Sancharika Samuha, and Society of Economic Journalists Association of Nepal (SEJON) for this award. Rotary intends to further partnership with Media particularly to promote positive communication in the society through sharing inspiring efforts of individuals and organizations in their communities.
The 7 member Jury Committee consists of District Governor Dilendra Raj Shrestha, Immediate Past District Governor Yogendra Man Pradhan, Spokesperson Nugal Vaidya from Rotary; President Dr. Mahendra Bista and Immediate Past President Shiva Gaunle from Federation of Nepalese Journalists and Shree Ram Singh Basnet from Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Parashuram Kharel from Nepal Press Institute.
